Because of the uncertainty of COVID-19, we are planning multiple options for faith formation for 2020-2021.

If safety protocols allow, on-site sessions will be offered as follows:

  • Sunday Preschool – during the 9:00 and 11:00 Sunday morning Masses
  • Grades 1-5 (Grade 2: Go Seek Find; Grades 1,3,4,5: Discover!) – Mondays, 5-6:15 p.m. and 6:45-8 p.m.
  • Grades 6-7 (Edge) – Mondays, 6:45-8 p.m.
  • Grade 8 (Purpose Confirmation Preparation) – Sundays, 4:30-5:45 p.m.
  • Grades 9-12
    • HS Slice, Sundays, 7-8:30 p.m.
    • HS Bible Study, Thursdays, 3:30-5 p.m.

We are also preparing to provide Virtual Learning resources through Google Classroom to utilize if we are unable to gather on-site, or for families who are unable to participate at these scheduled times.

**NOTE: Families who register for on-site sessions will automatically be switched to virtual learning if we are unable to gather on-site.

Gospel Weeklies Home Formation will continue to be offered, with both print and online resources.

NEW: Family-Centered Retreat – With the uncertainty of COVID-19, we are offering this simple option for families to receive weekly prayer resources to pray together to grow in their relationship with God and with one another.

FOCUS OF FAITH FORMATION MINISTRIES

St. Robert of Newminster Church’s Faith Formation Team is committed to providing resources and opportunities for the development of faith for persons of all ages. We take our directive from the Church, which says that “the definitive aim of catechesis (religious education) is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.” (National Directory for Catechesis, 19B) Through our ministry, we aim to assist people of all ages to grow in knowledge of the Catholic faith, participate more explicitly in the liturgy and sacraments, live according to Jesus’ moral teaching, become people of prayer, and participate actively in the life and mission of the Church by becoming missionary disciples in their families, communities and world.

As we grow in relationship with God and knowledge of and in love with Jesus Christ, we ask for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to guide and nurture the faith development and discipleship of the community of St Robert of Newminster Church.
