Representatives from the parish are involved in building our sister parish relationship via a steering committee with Holy Name of Jesus parish members. Some St. Robert’s parishioners are involved in fund development with San Juan Diego Academy. Each summer, HNJ parish volunteers visit migrant camps in the area and invite St. Robert parishioners to join them to provide a Catholic presence to the many migrant workers who pick fruit in our area.
Periodic activities to support the San Juan Diego Academy include an annual fundraiser weekend here at St. Robert’s, and a Mexican dinner here every other year. Youth and music program contacts have resulted in some events as well. Elderly individuals from HNJ also attend the Senior Citizen Picnic here at St. Robert’s. As noted elsewhere in this directory, St. Robert’s parishioners provide volunteers in the San Juan Diego Academy English as a Second Language Program (ESL) for immigrant parents wishing to improve their skills.
